Know Your Water Shutoff Valve
Shutoff valves are typically levers with a rubber cap on the handle. Whether it is blue or red, there is one main lever, and several smaller ones found in the home. You might have yours attached to your hose valve.
If you're having a hard time finding the right shutoff valve, you can find the water main valve in the street or in the basement. Don't worry, if you can't shut off your water line before we arrive, we will close it for you.
To prevent future damage, it is best to turn off your water line if you are going on vacation or will be away from the home for an extended time, especially is you have previously experienced a burst pipe. Planning ahead could potentially save you a fortune.
