Tips to remember when you are in a panic…

Fire Damage
  • Turn off heating and air conditioning system. This will prevent soot fallout and smoke odor from spreading throughout the home.
  • DO NOT touch or sit on upholstered items. This grinds in the soot fallout and makes it more difficult to clean.
  • Be careful when trying to clean smoke damage. Using the wrong chemicals without professional assistance can set the stain and make it more difficult to clean.
Water Damage
  • Turn off water and call a plumber.
  • Unload fragile items from china cabinets, curio shelves, etc.
  • Remove furniture from wet carpet (if possible) or elevate.
  • Remove anything that might stain the carpet (including clothing, shoes, etc.).
